Scent Work - 6 week course

Service Description

Scent work is a dog sport that teaches a dog to use its nose to find a specific target odor. The odors we use during this class are the AKC scent work odors. During this class, there is only one dog at a time “working” and the waiting dogs will be out of sight of the working dog. While dogs are crated, students can observe the working team and listen to the feedback that the working team receives. This class is open to dogs working at any level of scent work, and individual training will be provided for each team. What you will need to bring to class: * Rewards/Treats (if you use a toy reward, also bring treats) * 6-foot non-retractable leash * A flat collar or back clip harness. Please note: You are allowed to use training collars in class, however, they are not allowed during competition. If you wish to compete, you will eventually need to be able to work with your dog without the training collar.
